Clean up whitespace and line breaks
Clean up leading and trailing whitespace, repeated spaces, blank lines, and line breaks with settings that match your text. It is useful for fixing text copied from web pages, PDFs, and other documents.

How to use
- Type or paste the text you want to clean into Original Text.
- Choose how whitespace, blank lines, and line breaks should be handled. By default, leading and trailing whitespace is removed and repeated blank lines are collapsed to one.
- Select Clean Up Text to generate the cleaned version and compare the character and line counts before and after.
- Copy the result, or use Move Result to Input if you want to apply another cleanup pass with different settings.
Cleanup options
Remove leading and trailing whitespace
Removes regular spaces, full-width spaces, and tabs from the beginning and end of each line without changing whitespace inside the line.
Collapse repeated whitespace to one space
Converts runs of regular spaces, full-width spaces, and tabs inside each line to a single regular space. Line breaks are not included in this operation.
Collapse repeated blank lines to one
Keeps at most one blank line between text. Lines containing only spaces or tabs are treated as blank lines.
Remove line breaks within paragraphs
Keeps blank lines as paragraph boundaries while removing the line breaks inside each paragraph. This is useful for text that was wrapped at arbitrary line lengths.
Remove all line breaks
Removes every line break, including blank-line separators, and joins the text into one line.
Replace line breaks with spaces
Replaces every line break with a regular space. This can be useful when joining English text while keeping separation between words.

Is my text uploaded?
No. The input and cleaned result remain in your browser, and the text itself is not sent to a server.
Can it clean full-width spaces and tabs?
Yes. Whitespace cleanup covers regular spaces, full-width spaces, and tabs.
Are lines containing only spaces treated as blank?
Yes. Lines that contain only regular spaces, full-width spaces, or tabs are treated as blank lines for blank-line cleanup.
What is the difference between removing line breaks within paragraphs and removing all line breaks?
Within-paragraph cleanup preserves blank lines as paragraph boundaries. Remove all line breaks deletes those paragraph separators too.
Why are the blank-line options sometimes disabled?
When all line breaks are removed or replaced with spaces, blank lines are processed as part of that operation, so separate blank-line settings do not apply.
Can I run another cleanup on the result?
Yes. Use Move Result to Input to make the cleaned result the new input, then choose another set of options.
