Extract or split pages from a PDF

Select the pages you need and save them as a new PDF, or split every page into its own PDF file. Your PDF is not uploaded to the server; processing is performed in your browser.

How to use

  1. Add one PDF file.
  2. To extract selected pages, enter a page selection such as “1,3-5,8”.
  3. Select Extract selected pages to create one PDF in the order you specified.
  4. To create one PDF per page, select Split every page and download the generated ZIP file.

Page selection rules

Separate page numbers with commas and use hyphens for continuous ranges. “1,3-5,8” extracts pages 1, 3, 4, 5, and 8. Duplicate pages are included only once. The order you enter is preserved, so a selection such as “5,4,3” is also valid.

About output quality

The tool copies source PDF pages into new PDF documents rather than rendering them as images. It does not intentionally downsample or recompress pages just to extract or split them.

Compatibility and limits

PDF files are limited to 80 MB. Selected-page extraction has no page-count limit, while splitting every page is limited to PDFs with 500 pages or fewer to reduce browser memory pressure. Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are not supported.

FAQ

Are PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Reading the PDF, extracting pages, splitting pages, and creating the ZIP file all happen in your browser. The PDF itself is not uploaded to tools.yayao.site. The PDF processing library is loaded from an external CDN when first needed.

How do I specify pages?

Use commas and hyphens, for example “1,3-5,8”. Enter ranges from the lower page number to the higher page number, such as “3-5”.

What happens if I specify the same page more than once?

Duplicates are removed automatically, so each selected page is included only once.

Can I change page order while extracting?

Yes. Entering “5,4,3” creates a PDF containing pages 5, 4, and 3 in that order. Visual page reordering, deletion, and rotation are better handled by a separate PDF page organizer.

Can I use a PDF with more than 500 pages?

Yes for selected-page extraction. Only Split every page is limited to PDFs with 500 pages or fewer.

Does splitting reduce PDF quality?

The tool does not render pages as images or intentionally lower their quality. It copies the selected source pages into new PDF documents.

Can I process password-protected PDFs?

No. Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are not supported. Remove the protection first, then use the unlocked PDF.

What happens to digital signatures and bookmarks?

Because pages are copied into new PDF documents, a signature on the source document cannot remain a valid signature of the new document. Document-level features such as bookmarks, attachments, and forms may not be preserved exactly.

Is there a file size limit?

For browser stability, PDF files are limited to 80 MB. Practical limits also depend on device memory and browser capabilities.
