FAQ

Can I enter a full URL?

Yes. Because it is processed as a URL component, delimiters such as /, ?, &, and = are encoded too.

Can I use Japanese text and emoji?

Yes. Japanese text, emoji, and other Unicode characters are supported.

Is a plus sign decoded as a space?

No. This tool preserves + as a plus sign. Use %20 when decoding a space.

What happens with invalid percent encoding?

If a % is not followed by valid hexadecimal digits, no result is generated and an error is shown.

Is my input sent to a server?

No. Encoding and decoding take place entirely in your browser.
