Unix Timestamp Converter

Convert Unix timestamps in seconds or milliseconds and local date-time values in both directions.

Your input is not sent to a server. All processing is performed locally in your browser.

Unix Timestamp

Date & Time

The date and time are interpreted in your device's local time zone.

Convert Unix timestamps and local date-time values

Convert Unix timestamps in seconds or milliseconds to local date-time values and back again. Results include local time, ISO 8601, seconds, and milliseconds.

How to use

  1. To convert a timestamp, choose Seconds or Milliseconds, enter the value, and click Convert to Date.
  2. To convert a date, enter a date and time in your device local time zone and click Convert to Timestamp.
  3. Use Use Current Time to fill and convert the current moment.
  4. Check the local date and time, ISO 8601 (UTC), Unix timestamp in seconds, and Unix timestamp in milliseconds.
  5. Use the Copy button beside the value you need.

Time zones

The date-time input is interpreted in your device local time zone. ISO 8601 output uses Z for UTC, while a Unix timestamp represents the same instant independently of time zones. Your input is not sent to a server.

FAQ

Does the timestamp use seconds or milliseconds?

Both are supported. Explicitly choose Seconds or Milliseconds before converting; the unit is not detected automatically.

What is the difference between seconds and milliseconds?

The same instant can be written as 1700000000 seconds or 1700000000000 milliseconds. JavaScript Date.now() returns milliseconds.

How are time zones handled?

The date-time input uses your device local time zone, ISO 8601 with Z uses UTC, and the Unix timestamp itself represents an instant independently of time zones.

Can I convert dates before 1970?

Yes. Negative Unix timestamps represent dates before 1970 and are supported.

Is my input sent to a server?

No. All conversion is performed locally in your browser.
